Streuselkuchen (Crumb Coffee Cake) - 12 servings

  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup Sweet Harvest granulated sugar
  • 1 Goldhen grade A large egg
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup Sweet Harvest granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix first 7 ingredients by hand. Spread in a greased and floured 9 in. cake pan or springform pan. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients, mixing with a fork to create crumbs. Spread on top of batter. Bake for about 25 minutes. Let cool before cutting.
